Stuff Unit form
The Stuff Unit form enables you to associate goods with an empty unit. N4 displays the Stuff Unit form only if the selected unit is an empty unit. If the selected unit is a break-bulk unit, N4 displays the Stuff Breakbulk form (on page 1).
If you do not select a unit in the list view or select multiple units, N4 disables the Stuff option.
The selected unit must be:
Empty (Freight Kind = Empty or Freight Kind = LCL)
Active (on page 1) and in the Yard
N4 checks if there are any existing Advised units with the same O/B Carrier as the carrier visit of the booking. If there is any existing Advised unit, N4 reuses the existing unit instead of creating a new UFV.
The default fields in the Stuff Unit form are:
Service Note: Enter any notes that you want to record with the UNIT_STUFF event for the selected empty unit.
Goods Id: Enter the ID of an existing break-bulk unit that you want to stuff into the selected empty unit.
Gross Weight:The gross weight of the container. N4 validates the gross weight against the tare weight.
Booking Nbr/RailOrder Nbr: Select the booking/rail order that you want to assign to the stuffed unit.
The list of values for the Booking Nbr/RailOrder Nbr lookup field displays bookings/rail orders associated with the line operator of the selected unit or the unit entered in the Goods Id field.
If the selected unit and unit in the Goods Id field are for different line operators, then N4 does not display any bookings or rail orders in the Booking Nbr/RailOrder Nbr list of values.
Order Item: Select the order item for the booking in the Booking Nbr field.
If the Override Cutoff check box in the Booking form is selected for the booking, N4 ignores the cut-off dates (Dry Cutoff, Reefer Cutoff, and Hazard Cutoff) for the unit's vessel visit.
In addition to the default fields, the Stuff Unit form also displays any fields that you define for the UNIT_STUFF event on the Effects tab in the Event Type form.
When you perform the Stuff action on a unit, you can use one of the following options:
If you enter the ID of an existing break-bulk unit in the Goods Id field, N4 does the following:
Sets the Visit State and the Transit State for the selected empty unit as Retired.
Records the UNIT_RETIRE event for the empty unit.
Clears the yard slot from the Position of the Retired unit.
Attaches the equipment of the former empty unit to the specified break-bulk unit and sets the Freight Kind as FCL.
Records the UNIT_STUFF event for the specified break-bulk unit.
The following diagram displays a Stuff action when you enter the ID of an existing break-bulk unit:
If you do not enter the ID of an existing break-bulk unit in the Goods Id field, N4:
Sets the Visit State and the Transit State for the selected empty unit as Retired.
Records the UNIT_RETIRE event for the empty unit.
Clears the yard slot from the Position of the Retired unit.
Creates a full unit (Freight Kind = FCL) using the same equipment as the existing empty unit, sets the appropriate category for the new unit, and then activates it..
Records the UNIT_CREATE, UNIT_ACTIVATE, and UNIT_STUFF events for the new unit.
The following diagram displays a stuff action when you do not enter an existing break-bulk unit:
If the INVBILLING002 (BILLING_CREATE_STORAGE) setting is true:
For the retired empty unit, N4:
Updates the End Time and Time Out fields for the STORAGE event in the Chargeable Unit Events view.
Updates the Calculation End Time field in the Storage tab (on page 1) in the Unit Inspector (on page 1).
For the new full container, N4 creates a new STORAGE event in the Chargeable Unit Events view and uses the unit create time as the Start Time for the STORAGE event.
When you enter the order item number in the Booking Nbr/RailOrder Nbr field, N4 auto-populates the gross weight of the order item in the Gross Weight field.
If the booking contains more than one order item, you must select the order item from the Order Item field so that N4 auto-populates the gross weight of selected order item.
If the selected booking order item does not have a gross weight value, N4 updates the tare weight of the container in the Gross Weight field.
